I’m Paola Yit, the founder of Posh Deluxe — and this is more than a business to me. It’s my heart, my journey, and proof that with passion and hard work, anything is possible.
Originally from the Philippines, I moved to Australia in 2013 with just $200 in my pocket and no family here — just a dream to build a life with my now-husband, whom I met through gaming. After five years in retail, I discovered eyelash extensions in 2017. I was instantly hooked.
I started Posh Deluxe from a small corner inside my in-laws’ home, learning as much as I could while juggling work. What began as side income quickly became a full-blown passion. In 2019, I started joining lash competitions — and to my surprise, I began winning trophies. That year sparked something in me: I wanted to keep learning, growing, and creating.
In 2020, even during the heart of the pandemic, I kept going. We partnered with top European brands, launched our first high-precision tweezers (which went on to sell thousands), and I moved into our new home with my first proper lash studio. That same year, I began training students, judging competitions, and even showcased our brand at a Perth beauty expo. It was a turning point — I was no longer just offering services; I was building a brand.
By 2021, teaching became a true passion. I also did our first-ever brand photoshoot, and in 2022, I took it a step further by learning portrait photography so I could create content on my own. That freedom brought new excitement to everything I was doing — I felt like I had full creative control of my brand.
In early 2023, I decided to take the biggest leap yet — to open a real salon. We searched for months, prayed for signs, built business plans, and finally signed our lease. The build took 8 long months, full of delays, stress, and doubt. But we didn’t give up. In August 2024, Posh Deluxe officially opened its doors at The Precinct in Mount Pleasant.
By 2025, the journey entered a quieter but deeply meaningful chapter. It was a year of strength, reflection, and perseverance. While it wasn’t filled with big celebrations or public milestones, it tested me in ways that shaped me as both a business owner and a person. Behind the scenes, I learned to adapt, rebuild systems, strengthen boundaries, and refocus on what truly matters — quality, integrity, and long-term sustainability. It reminded me that not all success is loud, and sometimes simply continuing with grace and commitment is the greatest achievement.
Now in 2026, Posh Deluxe moves forward with clarity, confidence, and purpose. This is a year of thoughtful expansion and elevated standards. With stronger foundations and a clear vision, we continue to grow while staying true to our heart. We are expanding our services, education platforms, and product offerings — without ever compromising on quality or care. Every step forward is guided by integrity, professionalism, and passion.
Today, Posh Deluxe is more than a salon. It is a family-run business built on resilience, creativity, and genuine connection. It represents years of sacrifice, learning, and belief.
