The Complete Bridal Beauty Timeline: When to Book Lashes, Brows, and PMU for Your Perth Wedding

You’ve said yes. Picked a date. Maybe even chosen the dress. And now, somewhere in the middle of a thousand other to-do lists, the question creeps in: “When am I supposed to book my beauty appointments?”
It’s one of the most important — and most underestimated — pieces of wedding planning. Get the timing right, and you’ll wake up on your wedding morning feeling polished, confident, and exactly like the most beautiful version of yourself. Get the timing wrong, and you might end up healing from an ombre brow during your photos, or watching your fresh lash extensions shed in front of the mirror the night before the ceremony.
At Posh Deluxe Salon in Mount Pleasant, we’ve supported hundreds of brides through their wedding-day beauty plans — from intimate Heathcote Reserve weddings to grand celebrations at Crown Towers, garden weddings at the State Buildings, and beachside vows in Fremantle. We know exactly when to schedule everything for your lashes, brows, and cosmetic tattoo to peak on the right day.
This is your complete bridal beauty timeline. Save it, send it to your bridesmaids, and use it to plan everything from your first consultation to your morning-of touch-ups.
First, the One Rule That Changes Everything
Before we get into the month-by-month plan, there’s one rule you need to know:
Never try anything for the first time in the final 3 months before your wedding.
Every cosmetic tattoo, lash style, brow lamination, and lash lift needs at least one trial run before you commit to it for the big day. Your skin needs to react. The colour needs to heal. The shape needs to settle. The look needs to feel like you in every mirror, every lighting condition, every photo.
We’ve watched too many brides fall in love with an ombre brow on Instagram, book it three weeks out, and then panic during the bold day-3 healing phase. Don’t be that bride.
If a treatment is new to you, schedule the trial at the start of your beauty timeline — not the end.
The Big-Picture Bridal Beauty Calendar
Here’s the overview before we dive into the detail:
| Time Before Wedding | What to Book |
| 9 to 12 months out | Consultation + decision on PMU treatments. |
| 6 to 9 months out | PMU treatment #1 (ombre, combination, or nano brows; eyeliner tattoo). |
| 4 to 6 months out | PMU perfecting session + lip blush treatment. 1st Bridal Lash Full Set (Ideally during your hair and makeup trial). |
| 3 months out | Final PMU touch-ups + brow shape planning. Bridal lash full set OR lash lift trial. |
| 1 to 2 months after 1st set | Lash set check-in: discuss changes and perform a new set if adjustments are needed. |
| Ongoing (if needed) | Repeat lash adjustments until the look is perfect. |
| 1 week or few days before | Fresh lash set for the wedding day. |
| Wedding morning | Hair, makeup — beauty fully prepared |
Now let’s walk through each phase.
9 to 12 Months Out: Plan + Decide
If you’re newly engaged with a year or more until the big day, congratulations — you’re in the perfect timing zone for everything we’re about to recommend.
Book your bridal beauty consultation now
A bridal consultation isn’t a sales pitch — it’s a planning session. We’ll talk through:
- Your wedding date, venue, and season (Perth summer brides need different lash adhesives to winter brides)
- The look you’re after — soft and natural, glamorous and bold, vintage romance, modern minimalist
- Any cosmetic tattoo treatments you’ve been considering
- Your usual makeup style, skincare routine, and any sensitivities
- Photos of brides whose look you love
- Your fiancée or partner’s hair and makeup artist (if booked) so we can coordinate
We’ll then map out your personal timeline working backwards from your wedding date. You’ll leave with a calendar of recommended appointment dates, plus a clear understanding of which treatments to book first.
Decide on PMU (cosmetic tattoo) commitment now
This is the biggest “make a decision early” piece. Cosmetic tattoo — ombre brows, microblading, combination brows, lip blush, or eyeliner tattoo — needs a full 4 to 6 month runway because:
- Your initial treatment is followed by a 6 to 8 week perfecting session
- The full colour takes another 4 to 6 weeks to truly settle after that
- You need a safety buffer in case anything heals unexpectedly
So if you want any PMU for your wedding day, you need to be in the chair by 6 months out at the absolute latest.
Try your first lash set if you’ve never had extensions
If you’ve never worn lash extensions, now is the time to find out:
- What style suits your eye shape
- How your eyes react to the adhesive
- How comfortable you are with the maintenance schedule
- What density feels like you
Your first bridal lash appointment is designed to help you discover which style best suits your features, makeup preferences, and wedding aesthetic . If you want more drama, you can step up at your next appointment. For first-timer guidance, our First Lash Appointment guide walks you through prep, the appointment itself, and aftercare.
6 to 9 Months Out: PMU Treatment #1
If your consultation confirmed PMU for your wedding day, this is when the first treatment happens.
What to book in this window:
- Ombre brows, microblading, combination brows, or eyeliner tattoo — your main PMU treatment
Why now?
This timing gives you:
- 6 to 8 weeks to heal through the bold → ghost → emerging phases
- A 6 to 8 week perfecting session at the right point
- 4 to 6 more weeks for everything to settle into its final colour
- A buffer window before your wedding for any final touch-up needs
Expect a “bold” few weeks
Your PMU will look much darker than your final result for the first 1 to 2 weeks. By weeks 2 to 3, it can fade dramatically (the “ghost phase”). By weeks 4 to 6, your true colour emerges. We always remind brides: don’t judge the result before your perfecting session. It always looks beautiful by the end.
For the complete day-by-day healing journey, see What to Expect After Ombre Brows.
What to avoid in this window
- No engagement photoshoots in the first 3 weeks after your PMU (your healing phase will photograph awkwardly)
- No brow lamination, brow waxing, or anything that disturbs the brow area for 4 weeks
- No facial peels, retinols, or strong acids in the treatment area
4 to 6 Months Out: PMU Perfecting Session + Lip Blush
This is a busy window in the bridal beauty calendar.
Your PMU perfecting session
If you had ombre brows, combination brows, microblading, or eyeliner tattoo at 6 to 8 months out, your perfecting session is now due. This is included in your treatment price at Posh Deluxe and is the moment when we:
- Even out any patchy spots from healing
- Deepen the colour if needed
- Refine the shape or border
- Top up any areas that didn’t retain pigment evenly
Your perfecting session takes about half the time of your original treatment and heals much more quickly.
Book your lip blush now (if you want it)
Lip blush is the most overlooked bridal PMU treatment — and one of the most photogenic. Imagine waking up on your wedding morning with naturally tinted, full-looking lips that won’t smudge, fade, or need reapplying through 14 hours of celebration.
Lip blush needs 4 to 6 weeks to heal, followed by a 6 to 8 week perfecting session, and then 4 more weeks for the final colour. So booking your first lip blush appointment 4 to 6 months out gives you the perfect runway.
Engagement photoshoot timing
Most brides plan engagement photos around this 4 to 6 month window. Time them at least 3 weeks after your PMU treatment, perfecting session, or lip blush appointment so your healing phase is well behind you.
3 Months Out: Final PMU Touch-Ups, Brow Planning & Lash Refinement
At three months before your wedding, your major beauty decisions should already be made. The focus now shifts to refining and perfecting your final bridal look.
Final PMU Touch-Up Window
If you’ve had ombre brows, combination brows, nano brows, eyeliner tattoo, or lip blush, this is the ideal time for any final touch-ups.
Booking touch-ups at least three months before the wedding ensures:
- Complete healing before the big day
- Time for pigment to fully settle
- No risk of being in a healing phase during your wedding photos
- A stress-free lead-up to the wedding
By this stage, you’ll know whether any colour adjustments, density improvements, or shape refinements are required.
Brow Shape Planning
This is also the perfect time to finalise your brow strategy.
Together, we’ll determine:
- Whether your PMU has healed exactly as desired
- Whether brow lamination will be part of your bridal plan
- Whether you’ll benefit from brow tinting closer to the wedding
- Your maintenance schedule leading up to the event
Bridal Lash Refinement
If you’ve already completed your first bridal lash trial, now is the time to evaluate the results.
Consider:
- Did the lashes photograph the way you expected?
- Were they comfortable throughout the day?
- Did they complement your makeup style?
- Would you prefer more volume, length, texture, or softness?
Any adjustments can be discussed with your lash artist before your next appointment so your bridal lashes continue moving closer to your perfect wedding look.
6 to 8 Weeks Out: Final Bridal Beauty Review
You’re now entering the final stretch before your wedding day.
By this point, your PMU should be fully healed, your lash style should be decided, and your overall bridal beauty plan should already be in place.
This is the ideal time to:
- Confirm all upcoming appointments
- Review your bridal beauty schedule
- Finalise any brow lamination or lash lift bookings
- Coordinate with your makeup artist if needed
- Make sure your wedding week appointments are secured
The goal during this stage is not to make major changes, but to ensure everything is organised and ready for the final countdown.
Bridal Lash Extensions: Why Multiple Trial Sets Create the Perfect Wedding-Day Lashes
One of the biggest mistakes brides make is waiting until a few weeks before the wedding to get their very first set of lash extensions.
At Posh Deluxe Salon, we recommend beginning your bridal lash journey several months before your wedding. This allows you to experience different styles, make adjustments, and feel completely confident in your final bridal look.
First Bridal Lash Set: 4–5 Months Before the Wedding
Your first bridal lash set should ideally be booked around the same time as your hair and makeup trial.
This appointment allows you to see how your lashes work alongside:
- Your bridal makeup
- Your hairstyle
- Your facial features
- Your wedding aesthetic
- Professional photography
Many brides discover subtle changes they’d like to make after seeing the complete look together.
Second Bridal Lash Set: 2–3 Months Before the Wedding
Approximately one to two months later, we recommend booking another full set.
This appointment allows your lash artist to refine:
- Length
- Curl
- Density
- Lash mapping
- Wispy versus uniform styling
- Overall balance and symmetry
The feedback from your first set helps create an even more personalised bridal result.
Additional Trial Sets if Needed
Some brides know exactly what they want after the first trial. Others prefer to make gradual refinements.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with scheduling additional lash appointments before the wedding if you’re still perfecting your look.
The goal is simple: when your wedding week arrives, there should be no surprises.
Fresh Bridal Lashes: 3–7 Days Before the Wedding
Once your bridal style has been perfected, we recommend booking a fresh full set within the week before your wedding.
This ensures:
- Maximum fullness
- Fresh retention
- Perfect symmetry
- Beautiful photography results
- Confidence throughout the wedding and honeymoon
Your wedding lashes should be at their absolute best when you walk down the aisle.
What About Lash Lifts?
If you’re choosing a Keratin Lash Lift instead of extensions, we still recommend completing a trial several months before the wedding.
Your final lash lift can then be scheduled approximately 2–3 weeks before the wedding, allowing enough time for the lift to settle while still looking fresh on the day.
1 to 2 Weeks Out: Brow Lamination & Final Beauty Preparation
Brow Lamination (If Planned)
If brow lamination is part of your bridal plan, book it 7–10 days before the wedding. Lamination typically looks its best between days 5 and 28, making this timing ideal.
Add a brow tint at the same appointment if you’d like additional definition in photographs.
Final Beauty Preparation
At this point, all major decisions have already been made.
Your lash style has been selected, your PMU has healed, and your bridal look has been refined through previous appointments.
This final fortnight is about maintaining and perfecting your chosen treatments rather than making significant changes.
Other appointments commonly scheduled during this period include:
- Hydrating facial (no peels or active treatments)
- Brow tinting
- Brow tidy
- Manicure and pedicure
- Wedding beauty review with your stylist if needed
3 to 7 Days Out: Fresh Bridal Lashes & Final Touch-Ups
This is when most brides have their final lash appointment.
Depending on your bridal plan, this may be:
- A fresh full set of lash extensions
- A bridal lash refresh
- A final maintenance appointment
Because you’ve already completed one or more lash trials in the months leading up to the wedding, there are no surprises. Your artist simply recreates the style you’ve already approved.
A fresh bridal set within the week before the wedding provides:
- Maximum fullness
- Perfect symmetry
- Fresh retention
- Beautiful photography results
- Confidence throughout the wedding and honeymoon
This is also the time for any final brow tidying, light skincare, and relaxation before the big day.
Common Bridal Beauty Mistakes (and How to Avoid Them)
After supporting hundreds of brides through their wedding day beauty, here are the mistakes we see most:
1. Booking PMU too late
The single biggest mistake. PMU needs at least 4 months of runway. Brides who book at 2 to 3 months out risk being in their healing phase during photos.
The fix: Decide on PMU 9 to 12 months out. Book the first appointment by 6 months out at the latest.
2. Waiting Until the Last Minute for Bridal Lashes
One of the biggest mistakes we see is brides booking their very first lash extension set only a few weeks before the wedding.
Your wedding lashes should never be a surprise.
The fix: Schedule your first bridal lash set approximately 4–5 months before the wedding, ideally alongside your hair and makeup trial. This gives you plenty of time to refine the style before your final bridal set.
3. Forgetting the bridal party
Your bridesmaids and mother of the bride often want their lashes and brows done too — and our calendar fills up fast in wedding season (October–April in Perth). Book everyone in 2 to 3 months ahead so you can all do appointments together.
4. Booking too many fresh treatments the week of
Brides sometimes try to “freshen up everything” in the final week — new lash set, fresh brow lamination, lash tint, brow tint, facial, peel, all in 4 days. The result is overworked skin, redness, and stress.
The fix: Spread treatments across the full timeline. The final week should be light, calm, and confirmation-only.
5. Skipping the trial appointment
If you’ve never had a treatment before, the wedding is not the time to “see what it looks like.” Always trial first.
6. Forgetting honeymoon prep
Your wedding-day lashes need to last the honeymoon too. If you’re flying out the next day, your lashes need to be set up for swimming, sweat, and humidity. Mention your honeymoon plans at your final infill — we’ll layer extra retention protection.
For tropical honeymoons, our Summer Aftercare Guide covers exactly what to do.
Frequently Asked Questions
As soon as you’ve set a wedding date, ideally 9 to 12 months out. If you’re considering any cosmetic tattoo (PMU), this consultation is essential — PMU has the longest lead time of any bridal beauty treatment and needs a full 4 to 6 month runway minimum.
We strongly recommend not. Six weeks is exactly the window when you’re due your perfecting session — meaning your brows are halfway through their full healing cycle. Photos may show patchy, faded, or uneven colour. Either book ombre brows 4 to 6 months out (with full time for healing + perfecting session + final settle), or skip them this wedding and use a high-quality brow makeup instead.
The answer depends on your dress style, makeup look, eye shape, and personal aesthetic. Soft brides often love a 2D–3D natural volume or wispy lash, while glam brides may prefer Mega Volume or Kim K-inspired styling. Minimalist brides often choose a Keratin Lash Lift with a tint instead of extensions.
At Posh Deluxe Salon, we strongly recommend completing at least one bridal lash trial before your wedding. Many brides begin with a full set 4–5 months before the wedding and refine their style over subsequent appointments to ensure their final wedding lashes are exactly what they envision.
Yes — we love hosting full bridal parties. We can coordinate appointments for the bride, bridesmaids, mother of the bride, mother of the groom, and even the groom (lash lifts and brow tidies are increasingly popular for grooms). Book your group together 2 to 3 months ahead so we can secure adjacent times.
No — choose one or the other. Lash extensions are applied to your natural lashes, which need to be straight and untreated. A lash lift permanently curls your natural lashes for 6 to 8 weeks, which interferes with extension application. If you’re not sure which is right for you, our trial appointment will help you decide.
Plan a final lash infill 24 to 48 hours before you fly. We’ll add extra retention bonding for the travel + climate change. If you’re getting married in tropical conditions (Bali, Thailand, North Queensland), discuss extra-strong adhesive options at your final appointment. We’ve prepped brides for weddings in Italy, Greece, Fiji, and beyond — we know how to make your beauty travel-proof.
Lash lifts, brow tidies, and brow tints are increasingly popular for grooms too. A lash lift gives subtle definition without anyone knowing he’s done anything, and a tidy brow shape photographs beautifully in close-ups. Many of our grooms book a 30-minute “Groom Glow Up” appointment 1 to 2 weeks before the wedding.
Yes — provided you’re not pregnant or breastfeeding (in which case all PMU is on pause).
A complete Posh Deluxe bridal beauty journey — including consultations, PMU (if chosen), perfecting sessions, lash trials, lash lifts or extensions, brow lamination, and final touch-ups — typically ranges from $1,200 to $3,500 depending on which treatments you include. We’ll quote your specific plan in detail at your consultation so there are no surprises.
Absolutely — and we love it when our bridal clients introduce us early. Your makeup artist needs to plan their look around your PMU brows, lash extensions or lift, and lip blush. We’re happy to chat directly with your MUA in the lead-up if helpful.
You can rush a 3-month plan — but only if you skip PMU entirely. With 3 months, you can comfortably plan lash extensions, lash lift, brow lamination, brow tint, and trial appointments for each. You cannot fit ombre brows, microblading, combination brows, lip blush, or eyeliner tattoo into a 3-month window with safe healing time. If those are part of your dream look, you need at least 6 months minimum.
